Chaos has released Enscape 4.0. This version serves as a step towards future development, featuring an overhauled codebase for improved performance and stability.
The update introduces a range of new features, including NVIDIA Denoiser for capture exports, support for Rhino 8.3 or later, a UI reskin, and the beta introduction of ray-traced artificial lights. Notably, it brings improved reflections and global illumination for hardware ray tracing, expanded VR headset support, and optimizations for Revit Worksharing on Windows. Enscape 4.0 also enhances the user interface and integrates closely with Chaos products through new interoperability features.
For macOS users, Enscape 4.0 marks a milestone by offering a multi-platform solution that aligns Mac users with the comprehensive features available to Windows users. Specific macOS enhancements include adjustable assets, dynamic asset placement, a Custom Asset Library and Editor, site context, BIM data, and collaborative annotations.
Additionally, Enscape 4.0 expands its asset library with 178 new animated vegetation assets and 32 unique people assets. The introduction of NVIDIA’s ReLAX Denoiser improves image quality in captures, while the extension of VR support includes compatibility with the Meta Quest 3 and HTC Vive Pro 2 headsets. The update also offers a more refined user interface and addresses specific challenges in collaborative work settings, particularly for Revit users.
With a focus on enhancing interoperability within the Chaos ecosystem, Enscape 4.0 introduces the V-Ray Scene Exporter, allowing users to transfer key data between Enscape and other design applications such as V-Ray, 3ds Max, and Cinema 4D.
